Paracus

We arrived in Paracus on Sat. 27th of Nov and ate the best sea food I’ve ever had. We also tried a Peruvian dish called Ceviche, which is generally raw white fish marinated for 24 hours in lime juice , onions, cilantro, chillies and served cold. Ceviche is delicious. The next day we booked a 2 hour boat ride out to Islas Ballestas. On the boat we were able to see a 50m wide and 150m long three pronged famous geoglyph similar to the nazca lines. This has always been here and even the winds and sand do not wipe it away. There are some theories as to how it got there and how it continues to stay there. We then got to the island where there is a wide variety of animals due to the Humboldt current from Antarctica. We were able to see hundreds of Sea Lions, Penguins, Pelicans, dolphins and all differ types of birds including various types of boobies. There are some many birds that the government removed the guano every five years and sells it as fertilizer. Scott recorded the cutest video of a baby Sea Lion trying to get up on the rocks to get to its mother who was calling out to it.
